Guilt, Denial, Surprise, Compassion - Helping Families Navigate Their Emotions to Enhance Recovery Support
Family plays a powerful role in the treatment and recovery from eating disorders. While the treatment focus often centers around the emotions of the patient, members of the family also experience strong emotions that can either hinder or enhance the recovery of their loved one.
Hosted by Rachel Tenny, MA, LPCA, Renfrew's Alumni Coordinator, and Ashley Moser, LMFT, Site Director at The Renfrew Center of Charlotte, this webinar will focus on teaching the entire family to respond to their own emotions in ways that support long term recovery. Attendees will explore family members’ common responses to their loved one’s eating disorder and learn strategies for family members to balance their own emotions in addition to serving as a recovery support to their loved one.
