Actress Julie Beth Hagerty was born in the United States on June 15, 1955. In the movies Airplane! (1980) and Airplane II: The Sequel, she played Elaine (1982). Her other film roles include What About Bob? (1991), A Master Builder (2014), Instant Family (2018), A Midsummer Night’s Sex Comedy (1982), Lost in America (1985), A Midsummer Night’s Sex Comedy (1982), and Marriage Story (2019).
In 1979, Hagerty made her off-Broadway acting debut in Mutual Benefit Life at the theater owned by her brother, The Production Company. She had an Off-Broadway appearance in Art Wolff’s 1983 production of Shel Silverstein’s “Wild Life” at the Vandam Theatre. Christopher Murney, W.H. Macy, Henderson Forsythe, Conard Fowkes, Jody Gelb, Howard Lee Sherman, and Raynor Scheine were all included in the ensemble play.

She spent the summers modeling in New York City after signing a contract with Ford Models at the age of 15. She relocated there in 1972, when she worked at her brother’s theatrical company and studied with William Hickey, an actor.
