Joyce Vance and Cyrus Vance Jr. are two well-known attorneys from separate states. Cyrus Vance Jr. is the district attorney of New York County, while Joyce Vance is the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama.

Cyrus Vance Jr. is not Related to Joyce Vance
Joyce Alene White, the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, was born on July 22, 1960. She is married to Bob Vance, an Alabama circuit court judge who previously ran for the Alabama Supreme Court.
Bob Vance is the son of Judge Roberts Vance Sr., a United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit justice who was assassinated in 1989 by serial bomber Walter Moody. Bob and Joyce are the parents of four kids.
There is no proof that Bob Vance and his wife, Joyce Vance, are related to Cyrus Vance Jr.’s family. Their only thing in common is their surnames and legal origins.
Cyrus Vance’s father, the late Cyrus Vance Sr., was an attorney who served as Secretary of State under Jimmy Carter. Vance Sr. died in 2002, and his wife, Grace Sloane, died in 2008.
Amy Sloane Vance, their daughter, died in 2008, soon before Grace. Their daughters Elsie Askar, Grace Roberts Vance, Camilla Vance Holmes, and their son Cyrus Vance Jr. survive them.
Cyrus Vance Jr.’s children and grandchildren have no obvious ties to the Alabama Vances.
